![]() Christians have used agape to describe the love between God and humans, and the Ancient Greeks also used it in reference to love between spouses or family. While the scene is brief, the relationship between the two most closely resembles agape, considered to be the highest form of love. Afterward, Thanatos tells Zagreus that, while he may sometimes be quiet and distant, he has good intentions and would like to keep seeing him, which Zagreus agrees to. Again, the player can choose to "Comfort him" or "Ease off," the first of which leads to Thanatos asking Zagreus "What are you waiting for?" and the scene fading to black. Thanatos' romance scene begins with him asking Zagreus if he meant it when he said they should take their time. It's rare for a game to include a moment like this in which the player character is rejected, and it's refreshing to see philia play out in such a healthy way. While Dusa and Zagreus (being a maid and a prince) are not on equal footing, the game addresses this Dusa makes Zagreus promise not to give her any special treatment, and Zagreus expresses concern that he may have unintentionally pressured her into a relationship while forgetting his status. Philia is a mutual love between friends, typically equals. The scene ends with the two promising to remain friends forever, providing an example of philia, or "brotherly love." ![]() Zagreus takes it well, telling her that he respects her feelings. ![]() ![]() Dusa tells Zagreus that, while she does have feelings for him, she isn't attracted to him in that way and implying that she may be asexual. However, after maxing out your relationship, Dusa's cutscene is less of a romantic conversation and more of a conversation about romance. Dusa often behaves like a schoolgirl with a crush around Zagreus, gasping and emitting hearts when he is close and disappearing as if flustered or embarrassed after a short conversation. ![]()
